Start your night off at Velocity Condominium's entertainment tent on Half St. between L and K St., SE.  With a planned completion June/July 2009, Velocity has sold 52 of their 200 units.  Then head over to Axiom at Capitol Yards at 100 I (Eye) St., now at 25% occupancy, with modern, light-filled apartments and a triple-height lobby featuring a glass staircase and white terrazzo marble flooring.  Stop three brings you to Onyx on First, at 27% leased, where you can view art in their lobby and zen-like courtyard with waterfalls.

Artomatic will be held in Monument's 55 M Street, SEArtomatic 2009 to Be Held in the Capitol Riverfront
In celebration of its 10th anniversary, Artomatic will be bringing its trademark one-of-a-kind multimedia arts event to Half Street's first office building at 55 M Street, SE, in summer 2009.  In conjunction with the Capitol Riverfront BID and Monument Realty, Artomatic will be presenting more than six weeks of art, music, theater, workshops and more - all of it free for visitors!

Artomatic 2009 will be held at 55 M Street, SE, a new 275,000-square-feet LEED Silver Class A office building being developed by Monument Realty.  The building, currently under construction, is located atop the Navy Yard Metro stop and within a block of Nationals Park.

Held regularly since 1999, Artomatic transforms an unfinished indoor space into an exciting and diverse arts event that is free and open to the public.  In addition to displays and sales by hundreds of artists, the event features free films, educational presentations and children's activities, as well as musical, dance, poetry, theater, and other performances.  Artomatic 2008, held in DC's NoMa neighborhood, attracted a record-breaking 52,500 visitors and 1,540 participating artists.

Artomatic 2009 will be held May 29 to July 15, and will be open Wednesday and Thursday from noon to 10 pm, Friday and Saturday from noon to 1 am, and Sundays from noon to 10 pm.  Artomatic will be closed Mondays and Tuesdays.  Admission is always free to visitors.

"We're thrilled to be partnering with Artomatic on this unique arts event.  With both Artomatic and Major League baseball within blocks of one another, the Capitol Riverfront will be the go-to location for summertime entertainment in 2009," said Michael Stevens, Executive Director of the BID.

Registration for participation in Artomatic will open in March and be open to all artists - professionals to beginners.  To be notified of the date when registration opens and other Artomatic news, sign up for ArtoNews at www.artomatic.org.  Artomatic is run entirely by participating volunteers, and new participants are sought year-round.  To volunteer for Artomatic 2009, email volunteer@artomatic.org.
