Faces of the Front: Savita Malhotra of Harry's Reserve

SavitaHarry's Reserve at 909 New Jersey Ave SE, between I & K Streets SE, has opened to the Capitol Riverfront community, bringing with it a great variety of beers, wines, spirits, cheeses and snacks. Savita Malhotra, the owner of Harry's Reserve along with her husband, is excited to be a part of the neighborhood.

"It's an emerging economy," Savita said, adding, "the neighborhood has improved a lot, it's beautiful." Savita also added that the people she has met have been very friendly, and that everyone that comes into the store has made wonderful comments about their selection and design.

Harry's features over 1500 wines and 400 beers, in addition to a wide variety of libations and snacks. They have a large selection of French, Italian, and Organic wines and feature many sizes of top-shelf spirits. Savita said, "people have really been showing us the 'Wow!' effect, saying 'Wow, this is beautiful' and 'We couldn't wait for you to open!' and that makes us very welcome."

One of Savita's favorite aspects of the Capitol Riverfront is that the neighborhood is becoming a great community for both living and doing business. "If I were to put it in a nutshell," she said, "this is a great business community. The way the projects are coming together, with both residential and office buildings as well as the stadium, people won't have to go anywhere else."

Faces Heades

Savita met with the BID when planning to open Harry's. She said, "I called Ted and got started. The BID told me about the community, and what the BID does, and I really got to know them. It was a good experience. I love the clean teams, as the area  is nice and clean and that is wonderful for new businesses." Savita also wanted to thank the community for their warm support as they settle into their new home at the Capitol Riverfront.
