Circulator Bus Expands Hours

circulator

On April 1, 2011, the DC Circulator implemented service changes to the Union Station-Navy Yard route to extend hours and days of operation to provide workers and residents with a more reliable, convenient, and comfortable travel option for daytime, evening and weekend activities on Capitol Hill and in the Capitol Riverfront neighborhood.  Summer Circulator Hours will run April 1 through September 30, 2011 and include service Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and on Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.  On Nationals home game days, the Union Station-Navy Yard route will continue to operate later into the evening and on Sundays in order to transport fans to and from baseball games.

Now you can take the Circulator to happy hour or dinner along Barracks Row, visit Eastern Market, or enjoy Union Station.  The BID's summer event are now accessible by Circulator too-ride the Circulator to Thursday Front Flick Outdoor Movies in Tingey Plaza and Friday Evening Concerts.  The expanded service provides additional accessibility for our employees and residents through expanded hours and an additional day of service.  In the past two years we have seen the number of riders of the Union Station-Navy Yard route increase by 5,000 to 10,000 riders per month compared to the previous monthly total.  In May 2010, the Circulator route carried 35,948 people compared with May 2009 when the route carried 26,618 people.  With the extended hours and with your help, lets make May 2011 an even larger increase in ridership!

KasaraKasara Williams of William C. Smith and Company is the Property Manager of 1100 New Jersey Avenue, SE. Kasara started managing the building in February 2010. 1100 New Jersey Ave is the first Capitol Riverfront office building owned by William C. Kasara's favorite things about the Capitol Riverfront its "proximity to the Ballpark, which is awesome, as well as Justin's Cafe which has a nice, neighborhood atmosphere." She chose to work in the FRONT because it was a great opportunity to work in a new building in an up & coming area. Kasara noted that she would like to see more retail development, such as more restaurants and a salon in the neighborhood, but is greatly looking forward to the ice skating rink coming to Canal Park.

Kasara added that, "it's really great to work for a company that's dedicated to economic development in the Capitol Riverfront BID."
