Lease Signed at Monument's 55 M Street, SE
Sayres and Associates will locate its 20,000 SF headquarters at Monument Realty's 55 M Street, SE, directly above the Navy Yard Metro exit, consolidating their offices currently in the Front with their Crystal City offices. Sayres and Associates is a Government Services contractor providing engineering, technical, acquisition and program management, business, financial and IT services, as well as security analysis support to DOD, DOT, Homeland Security and other federal agencies. "We know the area well already and we're excited about its renaissance; this is an exciting move for us. Coupled with convenient access to our customers, the vibrancy and amenities that Monument is bringing to their Half Street projects make 55 M Street an ideal home for us," said Yvonne Sayres, facilities manager. 55 M Street is a 275,000 SF LEED Gold Certified class A office building, the first phase of Monument's Half Street mixed-use development project which includes 320 residential units, 50,000 SF of retail and a 200-room boutique hotel. Clean & Safe Team Extended Hours
Beginning last week, the BID Clean and Safe team extended hours until 8:30 pm Monday through Saturday. Crew members are now providing additional assistance keeping the public realm clean and greeting visitors, employees and residents at the Metro.

Streetcar Public Meetings Learn about future plans for streetcars in Ward 6 at DDOT's Open House tonight from 7 - 8:30 pm at the J.O. Wilson Elementary School, 660 K Street, NE. The public outreach tour to all 8 Wards will engage residents and businesses in the implementation of improvements proposed for the transit system for the city, including streetcars. DDOT will present the findings from DC's Future Transit study, specifically focusing on the streetcar plan. All Open Houses are open to the public and include presentations by project team members, display boards, maps and opportunities for Q&A. Learn more here.

Step Out! Diabetes Walk
The Washington, DC chapter of the nation-wide Step Out: Walk to Fight Diabetes walk will kick off at Nationals Ballpark and follow a 2-mile route around the Capitol Riverfront this Saturday, October 24th. Registration and continental breakfast begins at 8:00 am with the walk starting at 10:00 am. Enjoy live music, batting cages, children's jungle gym, giveaways and more at Nationals Ballpark. Ghost Ship Barry Step aboard the USS Barry at the Navy Yard, transformed into Ghost Ship Barry on Friday, October 30th and prepare to be spooked! Small children (up until 8-10 years old) can venture throughout the less scary ship between 6 and 7:30 pm. At 7:30, almost all lights will be turned off on the ship and more ghosts will fill the passageways for adults and those over 10 years old. Entrance is through the 6th and M Street Navy Yard gate and parking is next to the ship. No costumes, skirts, masks, capes or high heels due to the tight passages and narrow stairwells. There will be a "happy room" with crafts and candy for children who do not wish to tour the Ghost Ship. Ghost Ship Barry is free and open to the public, however, please sign up at 202.433.6826.
