The Lofts at Capitol Quarter Update
As construction on The Lofts at Capitol Quarter continues, the tower crane is now erected in addition to the three cranes that are already up in the Capitol Riverfront neighborhood.
The multi-family development that will be constructed on square 882 at 651 L Street, SE is part of the Arthur Capper Carrollsburg HOPE VI redevelopment. The Lofts at Capitol Quarter will include a total of 195 rental units, both affordable and market rate. Anticipated completion is set for 2016.

Capitol Riverfront BID Takes on the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge with Forest City Washington
On Monday, August 25th, the Capitol Riverfront BID took on the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge with Forest City Washington in the fight against the ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease.

Donohoe's Demolition Now Underway
Donohoe Development Company has begun demolition on Saint Matthews Church at the corner of New Jersey Avenue, SE and L Street, SE to in order to make way for the construction of Gallery at Capitol Riverfront, an apartment building at 1111 New Jersey Avenue, SE. The 324-unit building designed by WDG Architecture will be a mix of studio, one and two bedroom units and will contain approximately 11,000 square feet of retail space on the first floor. Gallery at Capitol Riverfront is expected to deliver in 2016.

VIDA Fitness Classes Extended Through September
As summer winds down and VIDA Fitness at the Yards gets closer to opening, modifications to the free fitness class schedule in Yards Park have been made.
Classes will be held on the following days through September 25th:
Monday - Bootcamp at 6:30 pm
Wednesday - Bootcamp at 6:30 pm
Thursday - Zumba at 6:00 pm

Osteria Morini Hosts First Annual Maialata

Construction on The Arris at The Yards Now Vertical
Forest City Washington has closed on the property for The Arris and will now begin vertical construction on the 327-unit apartment building.
The Arris, designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects LLP, will contain three below-grade parking levels and 20,000 square feet of retail.
Site work, including excavation, began in late 2013, and the building is expected to deliver in late 2015.
