Goals

Build a sense of community among employees, residents, visitors and other stakeholders in the Capitol Riverfront BID.

Promote employment opportunities in the BID organization and for emerging projects in the BID, especially for area residents.

Monitor and address social service issues that may arise, such as homelessness, and develop compassionate and effective solutions.

Programs
Community Outreach - The BID will work with companies, residential groups, condo associations, civic and religious organizations through a variety of programs including but not limited to:

  • Annual BID clean-up days
  • Seasonal parks and open space planting and maintenance days
  • Special events, concerts, festivals, flea markets and farmer’s markets
  • Maintenance and programming of high quality parks and open spaces that can be viewed as community resources
  • The attraction of amenities – such as retail, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. – that support the employment, residential, and visitor populations

Employment Opportunities - The BID will monitor and promote employment opportunities that arise throughout the development of the Capitol Riverfront. The BID will also look to find local solutions for the staffing of its Clean & Safe teams and Hospitality Ambassadors.

Homeless Services - The BID will monitor homeless issues in the Capitol Riverfront, such as aggressive panhandling, homeless encampments, and public intoxication, and work with other existing BID resources and social service agencies to provide solutions.
