Goals

Maintain database of all properties and development activity in the BID.

Market and promote the office, retail and residential business development opportunities in the Capitol Riverfront BID, including available space for sale and for lease.

Brand the Capitol Riverfront area as an office market, urban neighborhood, baseball and entertainment district and waterfront destination.

Conduct research and provide leadership on issues relating to economic development in the Capitol Riverfront.

Programs

Database - Maintain a database of properties and development activity that is a resource for those interested in investing, buying or leasing property in the Capitol Riverfront.

Branding Campaign - As part of an overall marketing/PR campaign, focus on the economic development marketing of the Capitol Riverfront. Outreach strategies will include publications, attendance at economic development related trade shows, an interactive website, and collaboration with the Washington, DC Economic Partnership and others.

Attraction and Retention - Assist in the marketing and promotion of various for lease and for sale office, retail, restaurant and residential opportunities, which will be included in the database, on the website and promoted through publications.

Issues Impacting Economic Development - As a rapidly developing district, the Capitol Riverfront BID area will face a variety of issues that may impact the economic development potential and business climate. The BID will work with property owners and DC agencies to resolve these issues.

Performance Measures

Build a database of Capitol Riverfront properties including for lease and for sale office, retail and residential opportunities.

Create a business retention and attraction program to the Capitol Riverfront through collaboration with developers, property owners, brokers and other relevant groups.

Branding the Capitol Riverfront as the new business center, retail, restaurant and entertainment destination; and urban neighborhood to lease, buy, shop, dine and invest.

Monitor and provide updates to BID members about issues that may affect economic development in the BID environs.
