Fall Harvest Moon Ride

Join WABA, the Capitol Riverfront BID, and Forest City as we celebrate the Full Harvest Moon and the opening of the brand new Yards Park! The Yards Park is a beautiful new park along the SE Waterfront close to Nationals Stadium and is a great location for the start/finish of our bike rides and fun before hand!

The fun will begin as WABA watches as the Washington Nationals take on the Houston Astros at 4:35pm. Tickets for this game will be available shortly! And don't forget- the Nationals offer free bike valet parking! Following the game, we will walk over to the Yards Park where there will be food trucks if you're hungry, community groups and bike shops to talk shop with and more.

Beginning at 7:30pm, riders can check-in with WABA or register on-site for one of our two rides. At 8:30pm, WABA will have an 11-mile ride leaving the Yards Park heading west along the Potomac River taking in sights along the way including Hains Point, the Lincoln Memorial, and National Mall. At 9pm, a 6-mile ride will depart heading over the Anacostia River into Anacostia Park and Historic Anacostia.

What to Expect

- About an 11-mile bike ride from the Yards Park along the Potomac River east towards the Lincoln Memorial. We'll then turn around riding across the Mall and back to the Yards Park.

- About a 6-mile bike ride over the Penn. Ave bridge into Anacostia Park and through Historic Anacostia before turning around and heading back.

-Although it will be dark visibilty should be fine as along as everyone is equipped with an adequate front white light. More riders on the trail with lights = better visibility.

- Fun!

Bring a Bicycle Helmet!

As with all WABA rides, a bicycle helmet is required to participate.

Bike Lights

As required by DC Law, all cyclists must have a front white light and rear red reflector when biking at night. If you do not have a light set, consider purchasing one through the Knog set registration option.

Food and Water

• Be sure to bring water for the ride
• There will be food trucks at the Yards Park before the rides depart for anyone who is hungry.
