Description
Are you looking for something fun to do with the kids? Consider stopping by the U.S. Navy Museum on the historic Washington Navy Yard to learn a little naval history, tour a Cold War-era destroyer, and have a picnic or snack in the park.
The U.S. Navy Museum offers everyone a hands-on experience. Look through periscopes in a submarine battle station or crack enemy code to help with the Battle of Midway. Scavenger hunts are also available at our information desk.
This summer, the Museum again offers four Maritime Craft Days for campers and families. On Tuesday, July 6, Wednesday, July 14, and Thursday, July 22, 2010, we will offer a variety of maritime craft activities for your kids. Children ages 5-12 can make periscopes, Jack Tar puppets, scrimshaw, sailor valentines and naval officer hats. Book your visit soon…space is limited for the Maritime Craft Days!
