In October of 2009 the District Government purchased 225 Virginia Avenue, now known as 200 I Street and has enter into a development deal with Stonebridge Carras. Stonebridge Carras is renovating the property and upon completion will deliver a 350,000 square foot LEED Silver certified office building. The redeveloped space will house approximately 1,200 - 1,400 employees within the DC Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA), DC Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO), and the District of Columbia Commission on the Arts and Humanities (DCCAH). The relocation of these three agencies saves the city about $9 million annually. Additionally, the building will include a ground floor public art gallery showcasing the vast DCCAH art collection.
