Waterfront & Parks

The Anacostia River, the Riverwalk Trail System, four world-class parks, and a number of thoughtfully designed open spaces provide areas for recreation and relaxation in the Capitol Riverfront.  Diamond Teague Park (2009), adjacent to the ballpark, is a perfect place to enjoy the river before or after a game and the 5-acre Yards Park (spring 2010) provides a marina, restaurants, garden and open green space. Canal Park (spring 2010), a model of environmental sustainability, will consist of three blocks of pastoral open space with active water features that celebrate the historic Washington Canal.   The four new parks and the Riverwalk Trail make the Capitol Riverfront such a unique and attractive to live and work on the river.
