Capitol Riverfront Neighborhood to Host Mayor Bowser's Annual Fresh Start #FITDC 5K

Hundreds of DC residents will gather in the Capitol Riverfront neighborhood on Tuesday, January 1 as Mayor Muriel Bowser hosts her 5th Annual Fresh Start #FITDC 5KThe race route will begin at Parcel A, located on New Jersey Avenue, SE between M Street, SE and Tingey Street, SE and proceed through the neighborhood, along the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail. Runners and spectators are encouraged to get to the neighborhood by taking Metro, Capital Bikeshare, and Rideshare as street parking will be limited due to MPD road closures.

Capitol Riverfront is a popular dining destination with exciting New Year's brunch options, and the BID encourages runners of all ages to enjoy post-race brunch in the neighborhood at a variety of restaurants including All-Purpose Pizzeria’s Bottomless Brunch and a special Pajama Brunch at District Winery.

For those arriving in the neighborhood via Rideshare—M Street, SE will be open, and the easiest drop-off points will be at 4th & M Streets, SE and 3rd & M Streets, SE for restaurants in The Yards subarea; and First & M Streets, SE for restaurants along First Street, SE. Restaurants located along Potomac Avenue, SE will still be accessible at South Capitol Street, SE, as usual.
