Warmer weather is here, which means it’s time for outdoor events in the Capitol Riverfront! There are a range of festivals, foodie events, and free happenings that animate the neighborhood from May through September. There’s something happening every day of summer in the Capitol Riverfront. Nationals Games – Take your #Natitude to the ballpark throughout the spring and summer to enjoy Racing Presidents and Harper homeruns. 1500 South Capitol Street, SE

Truckeroo – This monthly festival held one Friday of each month April through October at the Half Street Fairgrounds showcases over twenty favorite DC food trucks, live music, and outdoor games 11:00 am – 11:00 pm.  1299 Half Street, SE

Tour de Fat - New Belgium Brewery presents bikes, beer, and bemusement at this traveling celebration of all things bicycle at Yards Park. Born in Fort Collins, Colorado to increase awareness and participation in cycling as a sustainable form of transportation, Tour de Fat has grown into a national rite of passage for cycling advocates and bon vivants alike.  355 Water Street, SE

Free Fitness Classes – The Capitol Riverfront BID hosts free summer Boot Camp, Yoga, and Zumba classes at Yards Park and Canal Park in partnership with VIDA Fitness and DCBFIT.  Yards Park – 355 Water Street, SE; Canal Park – 200 M Street, SE

Thursday Night Movies – Every Thursday night in the summer, bring lawn chairs and a picnic basket to Canal Park for a movie night under the stars.  Canal Park Northern Block, Second and Eye Streets, SE

Rockin’ the Block Concert Series – Join your Capitol Riverfront neighbors for the Rockin' the Block Concert Series, a new take on the traditional "front porch" concert, at the Canal Block middle block stage in the heart of the Capitol Riverfront.  Rockin' the Block will be held on a Wednesday of each summer—June 1st, July 13th, and August 3rd—and features great bands, food and beverages from neighborhood restaurants, lawn games, and more.  200 M Street, SE

Friday Night Concerts – Enjoy music every Friday night of the summer 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm on the Yards Park great lawn stage. Pack a picnic for the family to enjoy, pick up take-out from one of the 32 + Capitol Riverfront restaurants, or grab food truck fare at the concert.  355 Water Street, SE

DC Jazz Festival at Yards Park – A weekend “blowout” where fans will enjoy jazz at the beautiful urban, green, innovative Yards Park overlooking the Anacostia River; beverage tastings; chef demonstrations; and -friendly activities! The event features some of the top artists on the scene today.  355 Water Street, SE

Snallygaster – This popular DC beer festival features no fewer than 300 unique craft beers against a backdrop of fine foods from the area's top toques and food trucks, music, entertainment, games, family fun, and more. DC VegFest – Organized by Compassion Over Killing, a DC-based animal protection charity, the DC VegFest is a free outdoor festival celebrating the very best of everything vegetarian in and around the nation's capital.
