Kick off the most wonderful time of the year with the annual tradition of lighting the Capitol Riverfront Holiday Tree in Canal Park! Bundle up with your neighbors, family, and friends to enjoy a visit from Washington Capitals beloved mascot Slapshot, Free Skate Rentals for the first 150 attendees to arrive, a vibrant Snow Globe Photobooth with instant photos, live holiday music from the popular Crush Funk Brass Band, more holiday music from DJ CiCi, and a cozy Holiday Lounge above the rink featuring holiday mulled wine for adults along with a Hot Chocolate Bar by local restaurant Pink Taco and S'mores Station for all ages (while supplies last). The first 100 attendees to arrive will receive an exclusive Capitol Riverfront mug & hot cocoa kit giveaway!

The official tree lighting countdown will take place at 7:00 pm with remarks from Ward 8 Councilmember Trayon White and other honorable Capitol Riverfront guests. Last but certainly not least, a very special guest will arrive later in the night (Hint: HO HO HO) to spread holiday cheer to everyone on the "Nice List!"

Registration is not required but recommended. This event is free and open to the public - skate admission ticket required for rink entry. Ice skating not required to attend.
