The Capitol Riverfront neighborhood is set along 1.8 miles of the beautiful Anacostia River, providing waterfront activities for all ages during the warmer months of the year. When it comes to riverfront recreation, Diamond Teague Park, Ballpark Boathouse, and Yards Park facilitate fun for all ages.

Capital SUP DC – Leading water sports outfitter Capital SUP provides easy access and connectivity to the water for residents and visitors by offering stand up paddleboarding, kayaking, and pedalboarding experiences out of The Yards Marina with rates starting at only $15 per hour. Explore the Anacostia River and sightsee the historic Washington Navy Yard and Fort McNair, or head out for an evening cruise and listen to the Friday night concert series from the water. Friday Night Fishing with Anacostia Riverkeeper – Head to Diamond Teague Park for free catch and release fishing, a wonderful experience for kids and kids at heart with fishing equipment included.  Potomac Avenue, SE and First Street, SE

Kayaks & Canoes at Ballpark Boathouse – Boating on the Anacostia River begins at Ballpark Boathouse with kayaks and canoes for rent throughout the spring and summer, and prices ranging between $15 and $25 per hour. The Anacostia Watershed Society (AWS) also hosts FREE Paddle Nights throughout the summer.  You provide a curiosity to explore the treasure in your backyard, and AWS provides the canoes, life jackets, paddles and safety lesson.  Potomac Avenue, SE and First Street, SE

Twilight Tour with Ballpark Boathouse – Take a tour with friends and watch the sun set along the river from your kayak. Paddle around the historic Anacostia and check out sites like the Capitol, Washington Navy Yard, and Fort McNair. Dock at The Yards Marina – With about 50 boat slips in multiple finger piers, the marina spans from the east end of the iconic pedestrian bridge in Yards Park to the border of the Washington Navy Yard.
