Take Our Word For It: #ChairChewCheersChallenge

Quarantine has given the BID team plenty of time to dream up where, what, and who we'll eat with when it's safe to do so again. We're not the only ones either. If you haven't seen it on our Instagram stories yet, DC BIDs have come together to launch the #ChairChewCheersChallenge so you can tell us and your friends what you're looking forward to post-quarantine. If you'd like to participate, download this story template and share on your Instagram stories, tagging your friends, the restaurant(s), and @capitolriverfront.

“Whenever friends come down to the neighborhood for our summer events, I like to take them over to All-Purpose after work for dinner.  I always try to grab a spot on the patio so we can look out at the Anacostia while enjoying a Buona pizza and a glass of wine or two. The food and views are a perfect pairing!”

Grace Aucella, Parks Events & Marketing Manager

“I can’t wait to go to Bonchon and have Kimchi with my daughter.”

Tony Boyd, Parks Director

“My husband Will and I will head to Bluejacket Brewery for tots and craft beer as a reward for attempting to be teachers during the pandemic!”

Susan Hampton, Public Realm Director

“My regular go-to before I started working from home was grabbing a Jefferson on wheat bread (yes, with a pickle) or a Bluegrass Bucha from Cornercopia.  As much as I love getting this time at home with my family, I miss getting to see my coworkers and look forward to cheers-ing with all of them before too long!”

Ted Jutras, Vice President of Planning & Development

“I’m looking forward to getting together with the BID team at Osteria Morini to celebrate the reopening of the District, neighborhood, and our office would be a triple cheers we can toast to during the meal. I’m hoping to dine on anything that reminds me of New England like squid ink pasta and grilled octopus. Followed by Ice Cream Jubilee for dessert of course.”

Jeff Jamawat, Planning & Development Manager

“I’m eagerly awaiting the day I can sit down at The Salt Line with a group of my closest friends and share a tray of oysters with lemon – a New England classic that reminds me of home.”

Emily Mangum, Communications Coordinator

“I’m looking forward to dining with my coworkers at Osteria Morini’s outside patio. There’s so much pasta, but I’m partial to the graminga.”

Dan Melman, Vice President of Parks & Finance

“For lunch, I’m looking forward to sitting down with the Capitol Riverfront BID team at Bonchon for a meal of garlic chicken and fries. I’ll bring friends I haven’t seen in a long time to a dinner of insalata cacio e pepe with graminga Bolognese and tiramisu at Osteria Morini.”

Michael Stevens, President

“I’ll be clinking glasses and snacking on the golden been muhammara dip with my husband and parents at District Winery. The winery is a special place for us since we were married there on NYE 2017, so I cannot wait to cheers to Restaurant Ana’s return.”

Bonnie Trein, Communications Director & Chief of Staff
