Free Fitness Classes in Yards Park & Canal Park – Exercise all summer long with the Capitol Riverfront BID’s free daily fitness classes on the boardwalk in Yards Park or on the grass in Canal Park. Bike along the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail – One of DC’s best kept secrets is Kingman Island in the Anacostia River, a scenic retreat perfect for hiking, biking, and bird watching. From Yards Park, it’s only a 20 minute bicycle ride to Kingman Island along the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail.

Walk for a Cause – Spring brings charity walks to Capitol Riverfront. Check out the events calendar for upcoming 5k walks in support of those affected by multiple sclerosis, cystic fibrosis, and melanoma and for each event’s registration information.

Pacers Fun Run – Lace up your sneakers and join Pacers Running Store’s fun runs. Tuesday and Thursday, Pacers’ location in The Yards hosts free morning runs at 5:30 am and evening runs at 7:00 pm. Celebrate Bike to Work Day – Commuter Connections and the Washington Area Bicyclist Association invite you to join over 10,000 area commuters for a celebration of bicycling as a clean, fun, and healthy way to get to work on Friday, May 20th.
